Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our feature team to help us develop and build out client-side workflows and features on our web applications that bring high impact and value to our users.
You should enjoy creating user friendly applications, taking mockups and turning them into functional features. As a frontend engineer, you would work closely with the Design and Product team to collaborate and iterate on the features you are building as well as working together with the backend engineers.
Being able to navigate ambiguity and bringing a curious and learning mindset is highly encouraged. This is an opportunity to be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded and diversity is respected and valued.
Projects previous co-ops have worked on include:
  • Upgrading web viewing technology from 2d canvas to WebGL for a more performant viewing experience.
  • Building out new web features that streamline users workflows.
  • Collaborating with the team on a new product launch
Requirement:
  • Pursuing a bachelorʻs degree (minimum) in Computer Science or similar filed.
  • Proficient with JavaScript (we use React across our web apps)
  • Comfort evaluating browser features, CSS and JS to optimize user experience
  • A strong sense of ownership: You strive for deep understanding, build the appropriate solution to get the job done, and iterate quickly to deliver high impact results.
  • Pride over everything you ship: You would never release code until you're confident it provides real value to the development team.
  • Love for building elegant, maintainable code: Abstracting and refactoring should be a passion, not a chore.
  • A team mentality: You recognize that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, appreciate collaboration, and play a key role to make the company win.
  • Pragmatism: You consider the many tradeoffs- business, technical, UX, speed, accuracy, complexity - in every decision.
Bonus skills:
  • Comfortable with React and TypeScript
  • Knowledge of web testing frameworks (we use Jest and Cypress)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with GraphQL
